In Chhattisgarh, five hardcore Maoists surrendered before the police today in Rajnandgaon and tribal Bastar district. AIR Correspondent reports that two naxalites, including a self-styled deputy commander surrendered at Bastar divisional headquarters of Jagdalpur. The police had announced reward of three lakh rupees for information leading to their arrests. In Rajnandgaon, three Naxals, including a woman, preferred to return to the political mainstream and surrendered before the District Superintendent of Police.Meanwhile, the security forces arrested four naxalites in tribal Bijapur district in Bastar region of the state.
