5 dead in Kerala train accident

In Kerala, five persons were killed and one seriously injured when an express train yesterday ran over a mini truck at an unmanned railway level crossing near Kollam. Police said, three persons died on the spot while two others succumbed to injuries at a nearby hospital where they were rushed. The mishap occurred when the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalore Mavelli Express train ran into the mini lorry at unmanned level crossing at Thayyil, near Kayankulam Junction, about 30 km from Kollam. The driver of the truck was among the victims.
