A local court in Pune has granted bail to five students of the Film and Television Institute of India, who were arrested for 'gherao' and illegal confinement of the FTII Director Prashant Pathrabe. <br/><br/>Magistrate Narendra Joshi rejected the prosecution's plea for police custody of the students and granted bail on Wednesday.<br/><br/>Defence lawyers refuted the prosecution's charge that the students had indulged in violent behaviour during the sit-in gherao of the Director.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, a three-member team of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry is expected to visit FTII on Friday to end the strike launched by students, who are demanding removal of TV actor Gajendra Chauhan from the institute's chairmanship.
