A moderate intensity earthquake shook Kashmir Valley this morning but there were no immediatereports of any casualty or damage. An official of thedisaster management cell said in Srinagar that an earthquake of magnitude 5.6 on the Richter Scale occurred in Northwest Kashmir at 11.36 AM. He said the epicenter of the quake was in Gilgit area,which is under Pakistani control. There are no immediate reports of any damage caused by the tremor.
