5.1 magnitude quake hits Western China

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake jolted an area bordering Shaanxi, Gansu and Sichuan provinces in western China this afternoon. Local authorities said the epicenter was located at 32.8 degrees north latitude and 105.6 degrees east longitude, with a depth of seven kilometers. According to China's national seismological network, the quake took place at a juncture of Ningqiang County in northwest China's Shaanxi Province, Wudu District in Longnan City of Gansu Province and Qingchuan County in southwestern Sichuan Province. No casualties have so far been reported.
