4th phase of Bru repatriation will begin from 26th April: Chidambaram

The Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday said that the fourth phase of Bru repatriation will begin from the 26th of this month. The total of 669 families will be brought back to Mizoram in this phase.Speaking to media persons in Aizawl, the Home Minister made it clear that a stern action will be taken against anyone who will try to create problems in Bru repatriation process.He said the decisions taken at a meeting with the Chief Minister of Mizoram Mr. Lal Thanhawla. He said issues like border fencing and modernisation of the state police were discussed during the meeting. The Chief Minister said that this will be the last and final phase of Bru repatriation. The Home Minister arrived in Aizawl Wednesday afternoon on a two-day state visit. Mr. Chidambaram will visit on Thursday Bru repatriation sites in Mamit district.
