4th ODI: India beat England by 5 wickets

Hosts India today defeated England by 5 wickets in the fourth one day international cricket match at Mohali to clinch the 5-match, with one game remaining. Put into bat at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, England compiled 257 for 7 in the stipulated 50 overs. The visitors got off to a pedestrian start, but some late fireworks from Joe Root helped England cross the 250-mark. Skipper Alistair Cook and Kevin Pietersen scored 76 each, while Joe Root made a quick fire 57, featuring 8 fours and one six. For the Men in Blue, Ravinder Jadeja scalped 3 wickets, while Ishant Sharma and R. Ashwin bagged 2 wickets each.Chasing 258 for victory, Team India overhauled the target with 15 balls to spare and 5 wickets in hand. MS Dhoni's decision to make Rohit Sharma open, did wonders, as he gave India the much needed start. He made a brilliant 83. However, India lost their way in the middle, with wickets beginning to fall. Suresh Raina then came to the Indian rescue and led from the front to beat England to win the series. Raina made an unbeaten 89.The next one day international, which is now a dead rubber, will be played at Dharamshala on Sunday.
