Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has said under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 497 cities have already been selected for coverage. The mission aims to provide basic services in 500 cities having a population of one lakh and above. <br/><br/>In a written statement in the Lok Sabha, Mr Naidu said AMRUT follows the service level benchmarks prescribed by urban development ministry for various services like coverage of households for water supply, coverage of sewerage services and etc. Mr Naidu also informed that AMRUT guidelines are available on the website of the mission (www.amrut.gov.in).
