In Jammu & Kashmir, the joint operation of Army, CRPF and J&K Police concluded with the killing of all the three holed up militants inside multi storeyed govt complex of J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) in Pampore town of Pulwama district. After attacking CRPF convoy and inflicting two fatal CRPF casualties, the militants on Saturday had taken refuge in EDI complex.<br/><br/>During 48 hour long standoff between militants and the security forces, two Army Captains, One Para Commando, two CRPF personnel and EDI gardener lost their lives. Over a dozen CRPF personnel and an army man injured during the operation, are recuperating in the Srinagar Army hospital. No militant outfit has owned the responsibility of the attack so far. Security officials suspected the involvement of Lashkar e Tayyeba in staging apparently a suicide attack by the three slain militants. <br/>State Governor N N Vohra, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, NC Working President Omar Abdullah and General Officer Commanding of Srinagar based 15 Corps, Lt General Satish Dua paid tributes to the deceased security personnel and a civilian. They expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the army paid a befitting tribute with full military honours to Captain Tushar Mahajan and Lance Naik Om Parkash, in a solemn ceremony held at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar. A Defence spokesman said homage was paid to their valour and sacrifice. Late Captain Tushar Mahajan and Lance Naik Om Prakash were members of the team that had launched an operation on Saturday.
