48-hour bandh begins in Telangana

In Andhra Pradesh, a 48-hour bandh began in Telangana region. As part of the Non-cooperation agitation demanding immediate steps to carve out Telangana state called by Telangana joint action committee, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, BJP, CPI and leaders of Telugu Desam from the region have extended support to the bandh. Following the violent protests yesterday by students, Telangana JAC has begun the 48-hour bandh in which unions of employees, workers, teachers and business community are participating. However, the police and Transport departments are not taking part in it.
