The 46th edition of International Film Festival of India kick started with great fanfare this evening in Panaji of Goa. The luminaries of Indian and world cinema witnessed the great cultural extravaganza which marked the opening of 11 day long festival filled with fun, art, human and ethos depicting all those with the help of imagination and technology. Beautiful dance compositions were presented making the evening more colourful and vibrant showcasing a kaleidoscopic journey of Indian cinema by famous dance artist Terence Lewis and his team.<br/><br/>Illyaraja, the great music maestro of South Indian films was presented with Centenary Award by chief guest Anil Kapur in the presence of Union minister of Information & Broadcasting Arun Jaitley and other dignitaries. On this occasion Illyaraja said that music should be made compulsory in schools and colleges as it has the soothing element in it which is much needed in today's world to bring down violence in the society.<br/><br/>Sonaksi Sinha, Kabir Khan, Dev Patel and Devika Bhise were among those who added to the glitter of the opening ceremony. On this occasion a book by Publication Division was also released detailing the life and achievements of those who were awarded with Dada Saheb Phalke award. Later the opening film of the festival 'The man who knew the infinity' was screened.
