4549 people tested COVID-19 positive today in Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, the total Covid-19 infection has crossed one lakh, 56-thousand with 4549 people tested positive today. The state health minister Dr C Vijayabhaskar told reporters in Chennai today, ten to 12 percent of the pregnant mothers who are admitted in the state run hospitals are found to be Covid-19 positive. <br />''<br />''However he said, there is little or no fatalities as special protocols are being followed for pregnant Covid-19 women.<br />'' <br />''When expectant mothers are confirmed to be Covid19 positive, their psychological stress gets multiplied. However, doctors quoting data say, most of their fears are unfounded. A special protocol has been evolved to treat pregnant mothers with Covid-19 infection. In the last three months, out of the several thousands of the expectant mothers getting prenatal care in Government health facilities in Tamil Nadu, 1606 were found to be positive for Covid19. <br />''<br />''1104 of them have had safe delivery and have gone back home with their infants happily. 491 are under observation in the special wards and are stable. About ten percent of the infants born to the Covid19 infected mothers also are known to have the infection in their bodies. However, it has not resulted so far in infant mortality which is another notable positive. <br />
