In Pakistan, at least 45 people, including ten soldiers, were killed and 100 others injured in twin suicide attacks by Taliban terrorists targeting an army patrol within the heavily-guarded cantonment in Lahore yesterday.Hours later, five blasts in quick succession rocked two crowded localities in the city injuring three persons including a policeman.This was the second major attack in the city within a week. The bombers, who were on foot, targeted vehicles of the Garrison Security Force that were patrolling the cantonment in R A Bazar. The blasts occurred 15 seconds apart near a mosque where a large number of people had gathered for Friday prayers. The mosque is frequented by serving and retired army personnel. Special Superintendent of Police (operations) Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed said, two suicide attackers struck the army vehicles which were on patrol.
