43rd International film festival of India ends tomorrow

In Goa, the ongoing 43rd International film festival of India at Panaji concludes tomorrow. A spectacular closing ceremony is being organized at Campal football ground amidst tight security which would be attended by a galaxy of stars besides other dignitaries.

During the ten-day cinematic extravaganza, over 300 films under various categories were screened. The number of delegates, which crossed over ten thousand, had been a record breaker. There appears to be a tough competition for various awards to be declared at the closing ceremony tomorrow. IFFI has introduced a centenary award of Rs. 10 Lakh this year besides awards for best film, best director and other categories. The total award money has been raised to one crore and ten lakh rupees. The festival will conclude with Mira Nair’s film Reluctant Fundamentalist. Mira Nair is also expected to attend the closing ceremony.
