Union Food Processing Minister, Harsimrat Kaur Badal has said that 42 mega food parks worth Rs. 2,000 crore would be set up in the country.Addressing a function after inaugurating the Centre for Learning Resources Development at Behra village near Lalru in Mohali district she said out of these food parks five have already been set up.She informed one food park has been set up at Fazilaka in border area of Punjab and two food parks in Ludhiana and Kapurthala will come up in the next two years.She declared that one food park will be set up at Lalru in Mohali district.The Union Minister said these food parks would have facilities of production, processing plant, cold store, collection centre and transport and these would facilitate farmers by providing value for their hard work.One mega food park provided employment to 30,000 persons directly and would benefit indirectly over 1 lakh persons.
