The 41 production units of Ordnance Factory Board have been converted into seven Defence Public Sector Undertakings, DPSUs, with effect from October last year. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt said, the step was taken to enhance functional autonomy, efficiency and unleash new growth potential and innovation in Ordnance Factories. <br />''<br />''He added that these newly created DPSUs are Munitions India Limited, Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited, Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited, Troop Comforts Limited, Yantra India Limited, India Optel Limited and Gliders India Limited. The Minister said, an Empowered Group of Ministers has been constituted to oversee and guide the entire process, including transition support and redeployment plan of employees while safeguarding their wages and retirement benefits. <br />''<br />''<br />
