The spokesperson said, First Secretary from the Indian Embassy at Kathmandu visited Hilsa and Simikot and coordinated with the Nepalese authorities.

Mr. Swarup said, in view of the forecast of inclement weather, Indian Mission in Kathmandu has issued a travel advisory to Indian yatris to avoid the Nepal route. The Embassy in cooperation with Government of Nepal and tour operators is making all possible arrangements for timely evacuation of pilgrims from Hilsa to Simikot and from Simikot to Nepalgunj.

However, inclement weather conditions are impeding regular air services, thereby causing difficulties for the stranded persons at Hilsa and Simikot.
