400 special trains to clear extra rush of pilgrims during Sabarimala Ayyapa festival

The railways will run nearly 400 special trains to clear the extra rush of pilgrims during Sabarimala Ayyapa temple festival season. A railway press release said in Thiruanathapuram that the special trains would originate from stations such as Chennai, Mangalore, Bangalore, Hubli, Hyderabad, Vijaywada, New Delhi, Allahadbad, Kolkata and Mumbai. These trains would stop at Chengannur, Kottayam and Tiruvalla, the main stations catering to Sabarimala pilgrims. The Railways have opened a reservation centre at Pampa, the base camp of the hill-shrine, which would remain in operation till 18th of January.<br/><br/>
