The government today informed the Lok Sabha that more than 400 attempts were made to infiltrate terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir in the first nine months of this year. In a written reply, the Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Antony said that while 37 terrorists were killed, seven army personnel also lost their lives in a bid to thwart these attempts. He assured the House that the army has adopted a robust strategy to effectively counter infiltration. He said that an effective vigil is maintained through surveillance and domination of the posts along the Line of Control
