In Bihar, 35 to 4o percent electorates have so far excercised their right of franchise after five hours of voting for the ongoing fifth phase of assembly polls for 35 constituencies of the state. Polling is going on peacefully and no major incident has been reported from any parts of the constituencies. 145 persons have so been arrested as preventive measures.AIR Patna correspondent reports, long queues are seen at almost all polling booths even in naxal infested areas. In some booths electorates have boycotted polls in protest against non – implementation of development work in their areas.Amidst elaborate security arrangements polling began 7 this morning. It will continue up to 5 pm except 14 naxal affected constituencies where it will end at 3 pm. In Hilsa, Belaganj and Wazirganj constituencies polling will be concluded one hour before the scheduled time. Out of total 9143 polling booths 5123 are declared sensitive. Over 81 lakh electorates will decide the political fortune of 490 candidates including 44 women. Political bigwigs whose fate will be sealed in EVMs include Ministers Prem Kumar, Harinarayan Singh, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha and Jitan Ram Manjhi.
