In Haryana, four vehicles, including three buses, were set on fire and several persons injured after a clash between police and hundreds of farmers who blocked the busy Delhi-Jaipur national highway-8 to protest against acquisition of their fertile land by the state government. The injured include several women and children, who were participating in protest against the land acquisition.Haryana police fired in the air , lobbed teargas shells and baton charged the protesting farmers. The farmers not only pelted policemen with stones but also dug up the highway using a JCB machine. Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda has appealed to the farmers of Rewari district to maintain peace and not to take law in their hands. The Chief Minister said that every problem could be sorted out only through dialogue.
