In Andhra Pradesh, at least four school children died and eight others are missing when a school bus fell into an irrigation canal at G. Pedapudi in East Godavari district Tuesday evening. District officials told AIR correspondent that a school bus of a private school carrying 32 students, slipped into a canal while giving way to a lorry coming from opposite direction.Twenty children have been rescued by the locals immediately after the incident. Four bodies have been fished out so far and the search operations are still underway. District Collector Nitu Kumari Prasad is monitoring rescue and relief operations. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy asked the district officials to extend all necessary help to the aggrieved and injured. Further details are awaited.
