The Maharashtra Assembly Speaker has suspended 4 MLA's of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena(MNS) for 4 years for misbehaving with a woman MLA and assaulting the SP MLA Abu Azmi for taking oath in Hindi. Chief Minister informed that privilege motion has been passed against the 4 MLAs. The Suspended MLA's include Ram Kadam, Vasant Gite, Shishir Shinde and Ramesh Vanjale. A resolution to suspend the 4 MLAs was proposed by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshvardhan Patil which the Speaker adopted.<br/><br/>MNS MLA's created ruckus in the assembly soon after the newly elected SP MLA Abu Azmi Started taking oath in Hindi with Speakers prior permission. Soon after Azmi began taking oath in Hindi, the 13 member-strong MNS contingent rushed towards Azmi, snatching the mike placed for taking oath at the podium.MNS members shouted slogans, demanding that Azmi should take oath in Marathi. The House was adjourned for 30 minutes as the pandemonium continued.<br/><br/>Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said that Constitution allows MLA's to take oath in any language. Condemning the incident the Chief Minister said that such incidents had never taken place before in the Maharashtra Assembly. He also said that suspended MLA's will not be allowed to enter the premises of the Mumbai and Nagpur assembly session. <br/><br/>Meanwhile,Leaders of several political parties have came down heavily on MNS whose members created ruckus in Maharashtra Assembly today .<br/><br/> The Congress has termed as highly condemnable the slapping of SP MLA Abu Azmi by MNS legislators in Maharashtra Assembly for taking oath in Hindi, saying it is a bias against the national language. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, the party's spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi termed such incidents unconstitutional and said that the party opposes such acts of violence.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Condemning the attack, the BJP has sought an explanation from Congress and NCP for tacitly supporting the Raj Thackeray-led party in the past. Party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar alleged in New Delhi that they have created a monster just for political purpose to divide opposition votes.<br/><br/> SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said in Lucknow that his party leader had done the nation proud by taking oath in the national lanaguage.<br/><br/> Reacting to the incident, RJD chief Lalu Prasad said in Patna that if efforts are not taken urgently to check divisive forces, the country could disintegrate. <br/><br/> LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan said, Hindi is our national language and Raj Thackeray and others responsible for the assault on Azmi must be arrested immediately.<br/><br/> Echoing similar sentiments, CPI leader D Raja said everyone has the right to take oath in the language he wants.
