4-meter International Liquid Mirror Telescope inaugurated at Aryabhatt Research Institute of Observational Sciences in Uttrakhand

<span style="color: #222222;">Uttrakhand Governor Lieutenant General (Rtd) Gurmit Singh on Tuesday virtually inaugurated the 4-meter International Liquid Mirror Telescope  (ILMT) in Aryabhatt Research Institute of Observational Sciences at Nanital from  Rajbhawan Dehradun. Union Minister of State of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh also joined the event virtually.<br />''<br />''On this occasion, the Governor of Uttarakhand said, the setting up of one more powerful telescope in the form of ILMT is not only a matter of pride for India and its allied countries but also for the world. He said that it is an excellent example of the capability of Indian scientists in the field of research and collaboration with the world community. The Governor said that Indian scientists are playing an important role in research and innovation,<br />''<br />'' Lieutenant General (Rtd) Gurmit Singh said that it is also an important example of the Indian Government,s commitment to scientific development. He said that this is a farsighted step towards understanding and knowing the infinite limits of space science. The Governor said that this telescope will prove as miles stone in the development of Indian space science besides opening the doors of possibilities in the field of research about the universe. The Governor also congratulated the scientists and experts from Polland, Canada, Uzbekistan and Belgium, who were collaborating on this project.</span><br />
