Four people including a police inspector and two criminals were killed in a police encounter in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh today. The A.D.G Law and order Jagmohansaid that in this operation two dreaded criminal were shot dead by police teams butpolice force also lost inspector of Mau district Govind Singh. He was severely injured in the gun battle and later succumbed to injuries. According to police, Criminals also gunned a local resident of Mathiavillage of Mau district where encounter took place for more than four hours. According to state police action was taken after police got confirmed information of movements of slain criminals in the area inthis afternoon. When police force cordoned off the area , these dreaded criminals forcefully took shelter in a house where they also shot dead the house owner and took hostage the entire family. After fierce gun battle both the criminals belong to gang of eastern UP was killed .The other members of family were freed unhurt.
