In West Bengal, 4 persons were killed and five others injured in a series of clashes between ruling CPIM and Opposition Congress workers in Murshidabad district today. District Superintendent of Police Mr. Bharath Lal Meena told AIR that the incident occurred over election of a local school management committee at Char Firajpur under Islampur police station area. AIR correspondent reports that both the warring groups indiscriminately used bomb and fire arms during the clashes. Senior Police officials have rushed to the spot. Tension prevails in the area though it is stated to be under control.
