In Punjab, four labourers have died whereas atleast fourteen received severe burn injuries during a fire which broke out late in the intervening night of Sept. 11-12, at rice bran factory situated in Khanna industrial area in Ludhiana disitrict. Out of the fourteen, twelve have been shifted to PGI and two to Sector -32 General Hospital in Chandigarh.During the fire, three charred to death whose remains were recovered today morning and one died in a hospital. Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Khanna, Purshotam Singh Sodhi has confirmed to the AIR Jalandhar Correspondent that the fire which broke out around 1.00 AM, last night, with a blast in the factory, had been controlled by the fire tenders in the wee hours. All the injured and those who died are migrant labourers working in the factory.
