4 killed, 14 injured in Kanpur explosions

In Uttar Pradesh, four people were killed and 14 injured in a explosion occurred in a house belonging to health department in Kalyanpur police station area in Kanpur today. The DIG police of Kanpur Prem Prakash told AIR Allahabad correspondent this evening that injured included nine children. Condition of three injured is stated to be serious. All of them have been admitted to district hospital.The DIG police said that initial enquiry indicates that explosion occurred due to stock of fire crackers and other explosive materials. He said, Gas cylinders were also stocked in the same house. The state police has denied any terror angle. However, a team of Anti terrorist Squad (ATS) headed by DIG Rajeev Sabbarwal has reached the incident site to investigate the matter. The ATS team has also collected the samples from the site. Rescue and relief operations are on as the report last came in.
