In Thailand, four people were killed and 118 others injured in a series of bomb blasts in an area popular with tourists at a border town with Malaysia. The dead include three Malaysians. Police said the blasts took place last evening in Narathiwat's Sungai Kolok district. A 3-year-old boy was among the victims. The first explosion occurred at around 6:55 p.m. local time outside a beer bar. When police personnel arrived at the scene, another bomb exploded nearly 300 meters away. Later, a nearby restaurant and adjacent buildings were torn apart by a third bomb hidden in a car which was parked outside the restaurant. Forty-three of the injured have been admitted to hospitals in Sungai Kolok, Yala and Songkhla. Seven of them are in critical condition. Police said 14 vehicles, 10 shops and one hotel were damaged in the blasts
