Manipur lifted the 1st All India Women's Football Championship by defeating Orissa through tie-breaker in the final of the tournament, played at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok today. Manipur converted three of their five penalty shots while Orissa could convert only two and the final score read 3-2 in favour of this North Eastern team. For Manipur, S Ibeyaima Devi, S Meera Devi and L Ashrani Devi converted the penalty shots in goals. For Orissa, only Sasmita Mallik and Alochana Senapati could convert their penalty shots in goals , handing the title to the Manipur team. The lady of the tournament title was given to Sasmita Mallik of Orissa. Highest scorer of the tournament title went to I Parmeshwari Devi of Manipur while the best player of tournament title went to Orissa goalkeeper Seeta Sharma. The tournament had been organized by women's wing of Sikkim Football Association.<br/><br/>
