4 Indians short-listed for this years ICC Awards

Sri Lanka's sports minister has ordered an enquiry into allegations of match fixing levelled by a former captain Hashan Tillakaratne.

Former cricket captain Tillakaratne last week had alleged that Sri Lankan players had been involved in match-fixing since 1992 and also said that he was prepared to name some of them. Tillakratne had led Sri Lanka between April 2003 and March 2004 and played 83 Tests and 200 one-dayers during a 15-year career.

Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage told reporters after meeting cricket administrators on Monday that he had asked the Inspector-General of Police to investigate these claims and submit a report . However on Sunday, Kumar Sangakkara , who led the Sri Lankan team in the recent World Cup has challenged Tillakaratne to prove his allegations.Sangakkara who recently resigned as the Captain after Sri Lanka lost the World Cup to India said that Tillakratne should work very closely with the ACSU (Anti-corruption and Security Unit) of the ICC and the home authorities to ensure that something's done about it if there is any foundation to those claims.
