The most awaited historic Queen's baton relay for the common wealth games arrived in Mumbai. The baton travelled from Pune to Panvel and finally entered Mumbai via sea route. The baton touched the coast of Mumbai at the naval dockyard and was welcomed by the officers of the Naval Dockyard. <br/><br/>At first the baton was taken to the naval submarine Sindhuvijay after which it was taken down to aircraft carrier warship INS VIRAT. It was later handed over to Naval commander and India's first circumnavigator Mr. Dilip Donde by Vice Admiral Sanjiv Bhasin.<br/><br/>The Navy achieved the first honour to hold the baton. The Queen's baton relay acquired traditional welcome at the Gateway of India at the hands of Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Chavan.
