4 Indians short-listed for this years ICC Awards

The Fifa Under-17 World Cup's Goa leg will start today at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda near Madgaon. In two Group C games, heavyweights Germany will first take on Costa Rica at 5 pm, while Iran are scheduled to play Guinea at 8 pm.

Germany and Costa Rica are the tournament's most experienced teams and are participating in their 10th FIFA Under-17 World Cup. However, both have failed to win the title so far. The Germans' best performance was finishing runners-up in the first edition of the tournament in 1985. Iran was the first team to qualify for the 2017 edition of the U-17 World Cup after India, who qualified as hosts.

Guinea is participating in the competition for the fifth time. Goans, who have a big football following, are expected to flock to the Fatorda stadium in large numbers to experience the sport's biggest event in India so far.
'
