Former World Number One Venus Williams is the new Dubai Duty Free Tennis Singles Champion. In the final she brushed aside the challenge of France's unseeded Alize Cornet 6-3,6-0 in straight sets. The doubles title has gone to Russian-Australian pair of Kudryavtseva and Rodionova . They beat the American pair of Raquel Kops-Jones and Abigal Spears 6-2,5-7,10-8 in a hard fought final.<br/><br/>AIR West Asia Correspondent reports, Venus Williams was at her vintage best as she demolished the challenge of Alize Cornet in straight sets in Dubai. A powerful service with equally powerful ground strokes and passing shots saw the day for her. In the first set, Cornet put up a semblance of a fight but Venus broke her service twice to win the game 6-3. In the second set, it was Venus all the way as she blanked Cornet 6-0. A wild card entry at the tournament this year, it was the third title for Venus Williams in Dubai and the 45th title of her career. Recovering from Sjogren's Syndrome, Venus has set an example that ailments can't dampen the spirit of mankind.
