Defending Champions India lost out to South Africa in their second warm up match ahead of ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup Championship in Dubai today. Batting first, India managed to score 234 runs for the loss of six wickets in stipulated 50 overs. India's top and middle order were restrained due to a fine bowling performance by the Protean side. Skipper V.Zol was the top scorer with 59 while RKBhui made 56 and SNKhan was unbeaten on 52. A seventh wicket partnership between SNKhan and Deepak Hooda helped India register a respectable total. In reply, South Africa reached the victory target in 44th over thanks to a superb century by Chris Fortuin who remained unbeaten on 112. Kuldeep Yadav bagged two wickets while Deepak Hooda and SNKhan got a wicket each in the South African innings. Team India had lost its first warm up match against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi on Monday. Given the performance in the two warm up matches; it is going to be a tough call for the defending champions to hold on to their title. The tournament gets underway on Friday. India play Pakistan in their opening game at ICC Stadium in Dubai on Saturday.
