4 Indians short-listed for this year�s ICC Awards

IPL's new Hyderabad franchise owned by Sun TV Network has retained over 20 players belonging to the recently terminated Deccan Chargers team. A BCCI press release today informed that a total of 179 players have been retained by their respective nine franchises for the sixth edition of Indian Premier League. <br/><br/>In the media release, IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla has said that the franchises have clearly focused on players' performance in the IPL while retaining them for the 2013 season. According to the initial squads confirmed by the IPL teams, Rajasthan Royals have retained the least number of players numbering 14 while Mumbai Indians have retained the maximum number of players numbering 27, including Harbhajan Singh. Australian captain Michael Clarke and South Africa's Test captain Graeme Smith and hard-hitting New Zealander Jesse Ryder have returned to the auction pool as Pune Warriors has decided to do away with their services.<br/><br/>BCCI has informed that the trading window for 52 players whose contracts were not extended and to sign in new uncapped players will open on 19th November.
