Indian wrestlers continued their impressive showing in the 20th Commonwealth Games with Bijineesh Bajrang, Satyawarat Kadian, Lalita and Sakshi Malik assuring themselves of at least a silver medal each by entering the finals of their respective events today. While Bajrang and Kadian advanced to the finals of the men's 61 kg and 97 kg freestyle categories, Lalita and Sakshi booked their berths in the summit clash of women's 53 kg and 58 kg respectively. Squash stars Dipika Pallikal and Joshana Chinappa made a big stride towards ending India's medal drought at the Games by beating the mighty Malaysian pair of World No.1 Nicol David and Low Wee Wern in the women's doubles today. Pallikal and Saurav Ghoshal are scheduled to play in the mixed doubles later today against Canadian rivals. In Badminton, Parupalli Kashyap, Srikanth Kidambi and M.V.Gujrusaidutt have moved to round of 16 in men's singles. P.V.Sindhu has also advanced to round of 16 in women's singles.In mixed doubles, Pranaav Chopra and Akshay Dewalkar have advanced into men's doubles round of 16. In Boxing, Mandip Jangda has got a walk over and is assured of a bronze medal. Devendro Leshram, Vijendra and Amrit Preet will enter the rings today. In women's category, Pinki Rani and Leshram Devi will enter the ring today. In Athletics also, there will be Indian challenge today. In women's Hockey, India will take on South Africa later this evening. All India Radio will broadcast a running commentary on the match from 8.25 p.m. In the medals tally, India is in sixth spot with 36 medals, including 10 gold.
