In shooting, Melbourne games gold medal winner Tejaswini Sawant and her partner Meena Kumari will be looking to retain last games' gold in women's 50 meter Rifle Prone pairs event. In skeet pairs. Mairaj Ahmad Khan and P Allan Danials will try to add another medal to India's already rich shooting medal haul. In athletics, Krishna Poonia will be pushing hard for a home Gold medal, backed by teammates Harwant Kaur and Seema Antil in Women’s Discus Throw event. In 800 meters women's race, Home hopes wrest with Tintu Luka who delighted the crowd by leading all the way to win her semi-final. India's Gayatri Govindaraj will be in contention for a medal in women's 100 meters hurdles. In weightlifting, only one gold will be decided today, in men's 105 plus Kilogram weight category and Sarabjit will carry the Indian hopes in this event. 20 bronze medals will be decided in Boxing while in Badminton quarter final and elimination matches will be played in Singles, doubles and Mixed doubles in both men and women categories. Indian players will also be seen in action in Table-tennis and Squash. In Hockey final classification matches will be played in women's category and Indian team will face Canada to decide the fifth-sixth position.
