In Kerala, a four day state meeting of CPIM will start in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. Prominent polit bureau members will be attending the meeting to be inaugurated by Party General Secretary Prakash Karat. Addressing a press conference CPIM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said that two lakh party members are to attend the meeting. In reply to a question he said that despite the thin majority of the ruling UDF, opposition LDF will not be doing anything to topple the government to assume power. At the same time, Pinarayi Vijayan said that the UDF government is a failure on many fronts.
