4 day Int'l Security Expo begins in Delhi's Pragati Maidan

The four day International Security Expo began at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi today. Over 80 leading exhibitors are taking part in the 18th edition of the expo. This year, Telangana, Chhatisgarh and Delhi are participating as partner state. Singapore, Denmark, Israel, Japan, Baghdad, United Arab Emirates, Australia, Canada are among overseas delegations who are exhibiting their security equipment. The expo features all the industry's latest trends, cutting-edge innovations and new products.<br/><br/>Inaugurating the exhibition Minister of State for External Affairs General V K Singh said, technology is going by leaps and bounds and there is need to leverage it for the betterment of the people. Noting that security consciousness in India is very weak, Mr Singh stressed on creating awareness about security issues in the society.<br/><br/> AIR correspondent reports that the expo highlights initiatives taken by the industry to promote manufacturing of the security equipment and gadgets under the Make in India campaign. It also provides business opportunities in terms of indigenisation, by way of joint ventures and collaborative transfer of technologies that would boost the domestic industry.
