Over 2,300 exhibitors will showcase their products like decorative, houseware and accessories at the four-day Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair. This will start from February 18 at India Expo Mart Centre and Mart, Greater Noida. A statement issued by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, EPCH in New Delhi on Sunday that this fair will be inaugurated by Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar.The EPCH Chairman Arvind Vadhera said in the statement that over 2,300 exhibitors from 28 states will display 950 product lines, designs, styles, raw-material base and concepts. Overseas buyers from more than 30 countries are expected to visit the fair. He said that the emphasis would be on recycled and eco-friendly items.Mr. Vadhera said, during first ten month of current fiscal, the country's handicrafts exports went up by about 19 per cent to 1.8 billion US Dollar from 1.5 billion US Dollar in the same period of last fiscal. The handicrafts sector employs one million people. Moradabad, Jaipur, Saharanpur and Jodhpur are the major handicraft hubs in the country catering to global markets.
