In West Bengal 4 crore trees will be planted to combat pollution. This is the promise made by the West Bengal Chief Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee to the people of the State.In a ceremony organised jointly by the State environment Ministry and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the West Bengal Chief Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the Forest Week or ‘Aranya Saptaha’.This year the slogan is, ‘Let’s go for greenery’. Keeping in consonance with the greenery of Rabindra Sarovar, Miss Mamata Banerjee stressed on the need to maintain greenery.
