4 civilians killed in shelling by Pakistani troops along LoC in J&K

In Jammu and Kashmir, heavy shelling and firing by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in Poonch district on Saturday, left four civilians killed while four others injured. <br/><br/>Two injured have been airlifted to GMC hospital, Jammu. According to police sources the forces from across the Line of control resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling on Indian position and some civilian areas in Balakote and Sabsian sectors of this border district this morning. The firing was effectively retailiated by the Indian army and the exchange of firing is still going on. <br/><br/>There has been 35 violations of ceasefire in August and this is the seventh consecutive day that Pakistani troops have shelled Indian posts along the LoC in Jammu region. <br/><br/>PRO, Defence Lt Col Manish Mehta told AIR Jammu Correspondent that Pakistani troops resorted to firing of 60 mm and 82 mm mortar shells on forward posts and civilian areas along LoC in Mandi, Hamirpur and Saujiyan sectors of Poonch. There was no exchange of sweets along the border today.
