3rd Test: India bundle out England for 283 in 1st innings

In the Mohali Cricket Test, India were 173 for 5 in their first innings against England in the post lunch session of the second day when reports last came in. Captain Virat Kohli on 44 and Ravichandran Ashwin on 14 were at the crease. Earlier, England resumed their play at the overnight score of 268 for eight. The hosts took the remaining two wickets quickly to end the visitors's first innings at 283. Jonny Bairstow was the top scorer for English team with his 89-run knock while Mohammed Shami took three wickets for India. The hosts are currently leading the five Test series, 1-0. They had won the last game at Visakhapatnam by 246 runs. The first Test had ended in a draw.
