3rd Test, Day 1: Australia 299/4 against India in their 1st innings

In the third Cricket Test against India at Ranchi, electing to bat after winning the toss, Australia were a solid 299 for 4 in their first innings on the opening day today. At stumps, Skipper Steve Smith on 117 and Glenn Maxwell on 82 were at the crease. During the match today, India were dealt a serious injury scare when captain Virat Kohli walked off the field after injuring his right shoulder while fielding in the post-lunch session. Kohli did not take the field even after tea with vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane doing the captain's job. At present, the four-match series is locked One-One.
