Australia were 414 for seven at on day two of the third cricket test against India in Melbourne a short while ago.Australia rode on captain Steve Smith's third successive century of this series to reach a strong position against the visitors.Starting the day on 259 for five, overnight batsmen Smith registered his seventh Test ton amidst some poor bowling by the Indian pacers.New-ball bowlers Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav made no impression in the first hour of play as the Australians made merry on a good Melbourne wicket much to the delight of the home crowd.Mohammed Shami, who had been bleeding runs till now, finally got Haddin caught behind. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin's entry brought some respite to India's condition as the visitors managed to check the flow of runs.
