3rd ODI: New Zealand 221/3 against India

Chasing a victory target of 338 runs set by India in the in the series deciding third ODI game at Kanpur today, New Zealand were 221 for 3 wickets in 36 overs when reports last came in. Earlier, put in to bat, India stitched a challenging 337 for 6 in the stipulated 50 overs. With his 32nd century, skipper Virat Kohli became the sixth Indian to complete 9,000 ODI runs today. He scored 113 runs. Kohli achieved the landmark in the 37th over.Overall, Kohli, who played his 202nd innings today, has become the 19th batsman to breach the 9000-run mark, making him the fastest to get there. Earlier, opener Rohit Sharma laid a solid foundation for India with his superb 147 runs. For New Zealand, Southee, Milne and Santers claimed two wickets each. Both India and New Zealand are at level 1-1 in the ODI series.India and New Zealand will also play three Twenty20 matches, the first of which will be held on Wednesday at the Feroz Shah Kotla grounds.
