The third Edition of India-Africa Forum Summit began in New Delhi today at Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex, with senior officials of 54 countries of the African continent charting out the course of three-day meeting. <br/><br/>Foreign Ministers of IAFS will be meeting tomorrow while the Summit is to take place on October 29, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. <br/><br/>Ahead of the meeting, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj underscored the commonalities shared by the Indian and African media: from the common fight against colonialism in the past to ''the common challenges of economic development – poverty, illiteracy and hunger''.<br/><br/>She said the theme of discussion reflected important planks of India's continuing engagement with Africa. The Minister also inaugurated the India-Africa Friendship Park on Shanti Path yesterday.
