<span style="color: #222222;">As many as 390 people have lost their lives in accidents on Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh between 2016 to 2018.<br />'' <br />'' This was stated by Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari while replying to supplementaries in the Rajya Sabha today.<br />'' <br />'' He said, 133 people died in 2016, 146 in 2017 and 111 in 2018 due to accidents on the Expressway.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Gadkari said the government is focusing on improvement in technical aspects of road construction, tyre manufacturing and other matters instead of decreasing the speed of vehicles on highways to check accidents.<br />'' <br />'' The Minister said, Uttar Pradesh Government has set up a committee to probe today's accident in Agra, in which 29 people killed on Yamuna Expressway.</span><br />
