Thirty nine candidates have filed their nomination papers for the first phase of Manipur Elections till date. The last date of submission of nomination papers for the first phase would be the day after tomorrow. Only one female contender has filed nomination papers so far. Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh also filed his nomination paper from Heingang Assembly constituency.
